Heart problems in dogs and cats

The proprioception is the capacity of the body to detect the movement and position of the articulations.

The proprioceptors measure of the position of the body, that allows to know the position of the members tends the closed eyes.

The biomechanics is the study of the aspects structural, functional and mechanics of the movement. It is the application of the lows of the movement. It is important to know if the animal has neurologic deficit.

Allergy and alimentary intolerance in cats

In cats, the alimentary allergy can associate with hypersensitivity the bite of fleas, inhaled agents or antifleas collar, it is a cause well recognized of feline dermatological problems.

Lumbar problems in dogs

Degenerative lumbosacral stenosis occurs when soft tissue and bony changes, possibly in conjunction with abnormal motion of the lumbosacral joint, impinge on the nerve roots of the cauda equina.

It is most common in middle-age, large-breed dogs.

Tail weakness, urinary or fecal incontinence, and pelvic limb lameness or weakness can also occur.

Treatment of cerebral vascular accident with acupuncture

Cerebral vascular accidents can happen as sequel of metabolic disease (Cushing´s disease, thrombocytopenia, hypertension, hyperthyreosis and trauma).

Animals with back pain

Acupuncture to treat muscular disturbances

Muscular disturbances are common problems in dogs and cats. They can be very debilitating, especially in patient geriatric. In general, the incapacity of the animal to walk without considerable effort and pain can be decisive factor to persuade the customer to decide for the euthanasia. 
 
Appropriate medication or surgery can solve or to improve a lot of muscular affections. However, they are not rare the cases in that the anti-inflammatory medicines painkillers either are ineffective or they produce side effects, and for which the surgical intervention would not be beneficial or it would involve risks associated with other preexistent conditions. 
 
In those situations it is that the acupuncture is indicated. A high percentage of cases involves muscular disturbances. It is an excellent alternative for corticosteroid injections. One of the most effective functions of the acupuncture is the relief of the muscular pain.

Disk disease in animals

Disk disease commonly occurs near the thoracolumbar region, (T12-T13 to L1-L2) are the most commonly afflicted sites, although other areas may also be affected.

On set of signs can be sudden or gradual and depend on the force, quantity, and location of the disk material, and the duration of disk herniation.

About 10% of affected dogs have back pain with no neurologic deficits. They are often reluctant to run, jump, or climb stairs and may have kyphosis.

Neurologic deficits range from ambulation with mild ataxia of the pelvic limbs to complete paralysis.
